Programs Description:

Hazelden Center for Youth and Families (HCYF) provides alcoholism and drug dependency treatment services to youth ages 14 to 25. Since 1981, HCYF has been helping families from all around the country. HCYF provides a safe, supportive environment where young people can face their chemical use and learn to make healthy decisions about its role in their lives. It's a place where parents come to understand the impact of substance abuse on themselves and their families. And, a place where young people, parents and families begin to rebuild lives that have been racked with uncertainty, pain, fear and helplessness.

Services include: assessment and evaluation, residential and outpatient primary chemical dependency treatment for youth, residential extended care, a four day parent program, and an on-site mental health center for young people with secondary issues such as depression or ADHD. They length of stay varies depending on the individual needs of the client, but may be anywhere from two to six weeks.
